Ricky Propper is a Director at True Partners Consulting’s New York City office and has over 30 years experience advising clients in acquisitions, dispositions, reorganizations and corporate restructurings. Ricky has extensive knowledge of the insurance industry.

Ricky spent over 10 years of his career in the tax department of a Fortune 100 global insurance company. Prior to joining True Partners he was responsible for monitoring the remediation of a Material Weakness in Income Taxes for one of the largest international insurance companies in the world. While with a “Big 4” accounting firm Ricky specialized in serving property and casualty, life and health insurance companies and was a national instructor in “Accounting for Income Taxes”. 

Ricky also leads the firm’s services on advising companies on the IASB/FASB joint project to improve the financial reporting of “Insurance Contracts”. In July 2010, the IASB released an exposure draft on the recognition, measurement, presentation and disclosure of insurance contracts. The new guidance will have a major impact on the industry.

Ricky has served as chair of the Affiliated and Consolidated Tax Returns Tax Committee of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Corporations and Shareholders Technical Resource Panel. He received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Long Island University and Masters in Taxation from Pace University.
