Joanne Chun Hughes is a Managing Director in True Partners Consulting’s Chicago office primarily specializing in corporate federal tax planning, with an emphasis on Internal Revenue Code Section 199(Domestic Manufacturing Deduction), Transaction Cost Analysis(TCA) and accounting methods studies.

Before joining True Partners Consulting, Ms. Hughes was a practicing attorney with a Chicago law firm where she assisted multinational corporations with tax protests, contractual and litigation matters in both federal and state courts. Prior to that, she was with the Chicago and National tax practice offices of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Ms. Hughes was also with the large Corporate Tax practice at the Chicago office of Arthur Andersen, where she assisted large corporations in implementing various corporate federal tax strategies.

Ms. Hughes received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and her Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. She is a licensed attorney in Illinois and Michigan.

Ms. Hughes currently sits on the board of directors for the Chicago Public Library Foundation and Millennium Park.
