Matthew Chenowth is a Senior Manager in the Unclaimed Property Practice of True Partners Consulting LLC. He has extensive experience in unclaimed property consulting, specializing in the development and implementation of planning opportunities, as well as the performance of comprehensive diagnostic reviews, and audit defense. Mr. Chenowth has over eight years of experience working in public accounting and also spent three years in the tax department at a large entertainment company where he assisted on numerous mergers and acquisitions, allowing him to gain experience in the technical issues surrounding corporate restructurings.

Mr. Chenowth has over twelve years experience in unclaimed property, and state and local tax including both industry practice and public accounting consulting. Mr. Chenowth is recognized as an authority in the design and implementation of unclaimed property planning opportunities, and has extensive experience in working with retailers in all industry segments to develop solutions tailored to their specific industry needs and fact patterns. In addition, Mr. Chenowth also has experience in unclaimed property consulting for the healthcare, manufacturing, and entertainment industries. He has represented Fortune 500 clients in the defense of unclaimed property audits, in the performance of comprehensive diagnostic reviews, and in the development and implementation of planning opportunities.

Mr. Chenowth has published articles on unclaimed property in the Tax Advisor and The Journal of Accountancy and has been a speaker for holder education seminars sponsored by NAUPA and other professional groups. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California.

Mr. Chenowth received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Science from the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois and he received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. In addition, Mr. Chenowth received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University Law School in New York, New York.
