True Partners Consulting Names New Managing Director in Chicago Office
Federal, state and international tax specialist adds strength to leadership team
CHICAGO – February 5, 2010 – True Partners Consulting LLC today announced that Barry Ehlers, 48, has joined its Chicago office as Managing Director.

Ehlers has worked in public accounting and tax for more than 23 years and actively manages a wide variety of tax engagements including federal, state and international tax projects. He has worked on a variety of clients in multiple industries throughout his career. His breadth of experience in tax includes areas such as U.S. Income, International, Domestic, Mergers & Acquisitions, Audit Defense, Bankruptcy, Sales/Use, Property, Payroll, Tax Provisions and Large Project Management. Ehlers has also been involved in various tax marketing initiatives, including one where he developed, tested and used software tools to deliver tax projects – he is largely familiar with using technology and processes in running tax departments and completing tax projects.

Prior to joining True Partners Consulting, Ehlers worked for Stone Wallace LLC since 2002, where he built and oversaw the firm’s tax practice, which included running tax departments for private and public companies and helping with automation and process efficiencies. Previously, he was a tax professional with KPMG for five years, where he managed national and regional tax service groups with up to 45 tax professionals in several tax service lines including running tax departments, bringing automation to tax departments, and performing large, complex tax computations. Before that, he was with PricewaterhouseCoopers for two years, after beginning his career with Arthur Andersen from 1986 to 1996.
Ehlers is an active member of the Chicago Tax Club and Financial Executives Networking Group (FENG). He has also been a contributor to the Bureau of National Affairs, Inc.’s Tax Management Portfolio and Foreign Corporation Earnings and Profits. Having spent time in Mexico consulting on a broad range of tax issues associated with doing business there, he speaks on the subject and other tax topics such as general federal, state and international taxation and certain incentives.
Ehlers received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a Juris Doctorate degree from DePaul College of Law. He is a certified public accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS). He is also licensed to practice law in Illinois, a member of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) and the Chicago Bar Association (CBA).
